Doctoral Consortium
- The EC-TEL Doctoral Consortium on 17 September brings together Ph.D. students working on topics related to Technology Enhanced Learning. The doctoral consortium will offer Ph.D. students the opportunity to present, discuss, and receive feedback on their research in an interdisciplinary and international atmosphere. The Doctoral Consortium will be accompanied by prominent professors and researchers in the field of Technology Enhanced Learning. These accompanying professors will participate actively and contribute to the discussions. The Doctoral Consortium language is English.

- WS1: 1st International Workshop on Visual Design Languages and Applications for Technology-Enhanced Learning (VIDLATEL 2008) (16 September Morning)
Planning to improve your e-learning projects? This Workshop will provide state-of-the-art presentations on applying visual design languages to push the quality of your instructional development processes. The workshop will feature top-researchers and practitioners who demonstrate, explain, and discuss with you innovative ideas, research directions, projects, and challenges of employing visual design languages and applications for the creation of technology-enhanced learning environments.
- WS2: Workshop on The European eLearning Management Certificate (EeLMC 2008) – Test Procedure and Business Model (16 September Afternoon)
In this workshop, the transnational certification of eLearning project managers (Certified European eLearning Manager) will be presented and discussed on the basis of the Leonardo innovation transfer project "smectrans". This includes the following issues: models & formats of online testing of vocational competencies, principles of central & communal knowledge & quality management for transnational web-based training, testing & accreditation procedures as well as business & marketing strategies.
- WS3: Workshop on the Creation of technology-enhanced learning solutions for 24/7 professionals (16 September Afternoon)
The objective of this workshop is to provide an interdisciplinary forum in which scientists and practitioners can exchange creative and innovative ideas on the integration of four principles when facing the educational challenges for 24/7 professionals: on-the-job learning, continuous learning, incorporation of the real-life context in the training and rapid development.
This workshop will stimulate the discussion on the integration of findings from research on learning and those on learning technology. A more complete integration of the two would lead to technology-enhanced learning environments that suit (adult) 24/7 learners better.
